I spent a lot of time thinking about what I wanted to write to close out 2019 and ring in 2020. Honestly, not a lot of good things came to mind. . 2019 has by far been the most challenging year of my life so far. It’s been filled with so many amazing highs and also so many really deep lows. I guess it’s hard to remember the highs though when I look back on a year that broke me. . I made so many poor financial decisions. I felt so lost both personally and professionally. I fell in love with a man who changed me for the better only for him to tell me that he doesn’t love me and he never will. And our family lost the strongest man any of us have ever known. . This year kicked my ass, and looking to 2020 I don’t have anything particularly insightful to offer. The other day my therapist asked me what brings me joy and I didn’t have an answer. I guess for me 2020 will be about finding an answer to that question. . I always aim to be completely honest even on social media for thousands of people I will probably never meet. And I write all that not to look for sympathy or well wishes. But to remind everyone that if 2019 broke you too, you aren’t alone. Feeling alone is the single most crushing feeling any of us can experience. I wake up everyday and I have to remember that I’m not alone. I am so lucky to have people both near and far. I’m not always the best at reaching out or asking for help or sharing my pain. But I know that they will be there in a second if I need them. We all have a herd that will rise to the occasion when we need them the most. . I think that being broken is a pretty normal thing these days. It’s what we do next that defines us. I move through most days in a fog, but I know that things can really only get better from here. And they’ll get better for you too. Going into 2020 full speed ahead. As 2019 comes to a close I have to say what a year this has been for me. From my best friend passing away, to me landing my first movie role which is a lead role which filming starts in 2020, just to name a few things. I’m excited for what lies ahead and the endless possibilities for me. I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and that you all stay healthy and surround yourself around good positive people and may all your dreams come true.
